Recognizing that access to art is crucial to the quality of our lives, ComEd has partnered with the League of Chicago Theatres to support cultural institutions in northern Illinois in their efforts to reach new and diverse audiences. This program provides managerial, technical, and contractual assistance to Small Disadvantaged Businesses to ready the firm and its owners for success in the private industry. Eligibility of the 8(a) program relies in part on criteria for Small Disadvantaged Businesses but has additional requirements related to the business itself.
This program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities. These preferences go to small businesses that obtain HUBZone certification in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone. The company must also maintain a "principal office" in one of these specially designated areas.

BACP Entrepreneur Certificate Program is a free and optional program available to attendees of the free BACP business education webinar series. Designed with entrepreneurs in mind, the program offers participants the essential information they need to start and grow a business in Chicago. The program’s curriculum covers essentials in business planning, financing, marketing, legal topics, technology, and more.
Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible to apply for an entrepreneurial loan with BACP's partner bank, CIBC. The CIBC Entrepreneur Loan Program was created to support small businesses with important working capital. This low-interest, no-fee loan can range from $1,000 to a maximum of $10,000 for new businesses and $25,000 for businesses with one year of filed tax returns. All financing decisions are bank's decision.
The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) and Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) were selected to provide support to small business owners interested in contracting with the City of Chicago and assist subcontractors desiring to become prime contractors.
